Total Swiss 2024 Taiwan Presidential Conference: Dr. Wang Shares Future Plans, Sparking Enthusiasm Among Presidents

At 1:00 PM on October 11, 2024, Total Swiss held its 2024 Taiwan Presidential Conference at the seventh floor of the Taipei office. Unlike previous health lectures that focused on health education, today's presidential meeting saw Dr. Wang delivering his plans for Total Swiss’s future with a warm and sincere demeanor, akin to that of a close family member. He carefully shared his vision for the company’s future development and the meticulous considerations he has made for the business growth of all partners.

Starting from 1:00 PM, the 75-year-old Dr. Wang stood on stage and spoke for a full five hours. His energetic spirit and exceptional stamina alone were enough to impress the nearly 200 Taiwanese presidents in attendance. However, what truly moved each president and ignited their drive was the grand vision and detailed strategies Dr. Wang laid out during those five hours.

Dr. Wang began by discussing the Taipei Port Free Trade Zone.

He said, “Fifteen years ago, when I founded Total Swiss, Singapore initially performed better, but after about six months, Taiwan gained momentum. It was then that I began considering where to set up Total Swiss’s transit hub. Unfortunately, Taiwan’s import tariffs on food products are as high as 30%, and there’s no refund—clearly not an ideal option.”

Hong Kong and Singapore both offer attractive tax incentives, but due to high warehouse rental costs in Hong Kong, Dr. Wang ultimately chose Singapore as the transit point for Total Swiss products.

During the pandemic, Dr. Wang was unable to travel abroad for three years due to travel restrictions. In this time, Taiwan gradually became the information hub for the global market.

Dr. Wang then re-evaluated whether Taiwan could become a transit center. Not long after, a bidding project at Taipei Port caught his attention. In addition to its excellent conditions, including 15,000 square meters of land and 30,000 square meters of capacity, it also offered the long-awaited "domestic customs area with foreign benefits" tariff advantage.

Thus, Dr. Wang decided to secure the bid and actively planned for it to become Total Swiss's Asia transit center.

This "domestic customs area with foreign benefits," also known as a Free Trade Zone, means that goods entering the port are not subject to the 30% tariff immediately. Instead, they can be transported tax-free to markets like Korea, Japan, and China, functioning similarly to a hub like Singapore.

Additionally, from the company’s location, it takes just 30 minutes to reach the port via Highway 64, passing through the Guanyin Mountain Tunnel.

Aside from Taipei Port, Dr. Wang clearly outlined several future strategic plans aimed at moving away from competitive “red ocean” markets. He also set aside time to listen to and address the questions and opinions of the presidents.
